Halfway to Sexy

Untitled

several years ago, at the absolute most miserable time during our minnesota winter, some friends of mine decided it was time to have revenge. they donned their nicest suits, classiest dresses, and most impractical shoes in what is now known as “sexy dress-up day.”

in more recent years, we’ve started observing the half-year anniversary of sexy dress-up day, which was this past friday night. we started our evening of sexiness at rusty quarters arcade in uptown. because what’s more sexy than vintage arcade games?

(i got my sexy shoes in the photo on purpose, in case you were wondering.)

i did pretty well with ms. pac-man for about a minute, and i failed incredibly at several other games.

unfortunately, it was really warm in the arcade. no air conditioning? so after we had our fill, we continued our party down to lyn-lake at the country bar.

all of the ladies in our posse ordered The Blue Revolver.

seriously, it was a pretty awesome specialty drink. i don’t regret it.

we went to moto-i for our next stop, where we didn’t sit on the roof but i did take the chance to get a quick panorama of lyndale avenue.

Untitled

after moto-i we walked much too far to the cc club. i think i complained about my shoes killing me about 80% of the way. i’m sorry, guys. but seriously — next time i’m getting a nice ride instead of walking all of that way. in wedges.

claire got me a girly drink, because she’s so lovely.

but did you know that the cc club’s kitchen closes at 11:30pm or something like that? i think we were there at midnight. so, after the drinks were dranked, we somehow kept walking up lyndale to the leaning tower of pizza. nom nom nom, cheesy bread.

oh, and we met a kitty named rosco. definitely someone’s pet. out and about, roaming free on lyndale avenue at midnight. i do not approve of this pet owner’s behaviour, though rosco was a very lovely cat.

and this was the last photo i took before my iphone’s battery died. extra special gratitude and thanks to laura for driving my aching feet all the way back to my car on lake street. it’ll be a while before i ever wear those shoes again.

did you catch my british spelling? i totally didn’t do that intentionally, but it tickles me so i’m leaving it.
