I went to a beach with a couple other gals, Vani and Jessica, today. It sort of felt like the last weekend of summer and things are winding down. The weather lately has been beautiful and getting ever more Autumn-like. On this note, Jessica asked what the most awesome thing we did all summer was. I gave her about 15 answers; I have had a pretty busy summer.

And during the whole summer I haven’t posted since June. Yeesh. Here’s a goal I’m setting for myself: get all caught up in the next week. Any bets on if I’ll actually get all caught up? Or even close? Here goes…

Let’s start with some music. In mid-June, Jason and I ventured into downtown Minneapolis to see The Hopefuls at Peavey Plaza. It was fun. I like that Minneapolis is dancing more.

Why are drummers always in the dark in the back? Hard to photograph.

Hey, it’s my ear. I may have an upcoming dental x-ray that involves taking out all of my hardcore earrings and I’m debating whether or not I should just leave them out. I would miss them, I think.

Jason doesn’t like it when I take photos of him taking photos, but I think he’s pretty cute when he’s being a groupie. So I guess I’ll just have to control myself in the future.

We also went to Rock the Garden – sitting on a blanket in the grass at the Walker Art Center with friends: Vani, Matt, Jon and Mark. A pretty superb day! I met Mark Wheat, a DJ for The Current. (Side note: I also recently met Jacquie Fuller, another DJ for The Current, and I was her groupie all night, too. I love local celebrities!)

He really doesn’t look like Billy Idol, which is how I used to picture him when I would listen to him on the radio.

Weird photo. I was in the midst of being lost in the crowd and finding my friends and my blanket all in the same moment.

OK Go used a lot of confetti in their setlist, which I loved. So whimsical!

Sharon Jones kicked all of our asses with her supreme awesomeness. I want to see her in Minneapolis again.

Some dude’s gramma stitched the MGMT quilt. That is some pretty serious dedication.

No one in the VIP balcony seemed to be having any fun. Lame.

I guess MGMT was good, but I could’ve ended my evening with Sharon Jones. MGMT had some fun lights which gave me a photo challenge, so cool.

Partying into the night is pretty fun.
