here’s how this weekend went:
friday night i had intended to join a happy hour pre-party for my saturday plans but instead i scored tickets to see garbage at mill city nights from the fabulous @juliaschrenkler. it was a perfect match for what i really wanted to happen that night!
it was my first time seeing them perform live. shirley manson is hot. my date, wilkerbooty, and i had a very wonderful time!
seriously: thank you SO MUCH, julia!
i got home just around 1am and since i had plans to go to minnebar bright and early at 8am on saturday morning, i decided i could allow myself to sleep in and maybe miss the first session or two. of course, my brain doesn’t work that way and i made it just in time to claim my spot at the conference — there’s a waitlist, you know.
there are a bunch of fun things to look at inside of best buy’s headquarters.
my friends, bertine and wolf, gave a great presentation about html5/css3/rwd, too!
i skipped a social option for saturday night in order to get caught up with the photos on my phone and take it easy at home. with jason’s help, i finished a 1,000 piece puzzle that my sister had passed to me! i think i spent something like 12–15 hours working on it?
i woke up early again this morning to head out to hannie’s second 4th birthday party at pump it up.
(the other kids were all yelling hannie’s name!)
remember when i posted about the trampoline place? this was like that, except it was inflatable bouncy castles! i have never felt more uncoordinated in my life.
hannie picked the biggest piece with the most frosting.
on my way home, i stopped by a yarn store for a couple supplies, and a clothing store for a shirt featuring kitties that i had seen someone else wearing. (i found it, yay! now i just need to figure out what i can wear underneath a sheer shirt.) when i got home, i got laid on by two cats for at least one hour.
then i had to skidaddle off to a clothing swap, where i scored some rollerskates! this summer might see some scrapes on my elbows.
on my way home (for the second time), i stopped by the grocery store a few blocks from my house. they are closing in three days and it was weird.
we had a few friends over for the mad men season premiere tonight, which was fun! we might invite folks over ever sunday night.
and now? now i gotta go to bed. it’s been a great couple of days, but i’m exhausted. can i have another weekend tomorrow, please? maybe one without so many plans.
(all of my photos can be found on flickr. of course there are way more photos than i could fit into this post.)
