Friday night I went for a quick dinner with Ryan at Vo’s Vietnamese. Tasty, but not what I had expected for a Vietnamese restaurant. Oh, well. I went home and entered zombie mode all night. It was kind of miserable. Since I had stayed up so late both Wednesday and Thursday night, I couldn’t get to sleep on Friday night either. I had been laying in bed since about 10pm and I don’t think I finally got comfortable until about 4am. I was just getting angrier and more uncomfortable the longer I stayed awake. Jeff had texted me around midnight, asking if I wanted to go out for a drink and I almost did just because I was getting so irritated with myself. I probably should have, alcohol might have helped me sleep. But I didn’t. I figured I’d be crabby and bitchy. So I stayed in bed. It was terrible.
But I still woke up around 9am on Saturday morning. Karyn came over around 11am to pick me up for bellydancing. It started off well, but by the time we started zills practice I was yawning every five seconds and getting really droopy. After lunch and running a few errands around Uptown, I came back to Karyn and Bryan’s apartment to play Guitar Hero and relax and lay with the cats.
I left around 8:30pm for Bertine’s party. I’m glad I went — I was by myself and it took courage but it was a lot of fun. Bertine has fun friends.
I got myself home around 11:30pm and, obviously, wasn’t ready for bed yet. I called Jen. She was at a party that was taking place just a couple blocks from my house above the small neighborhood grocery store. I had to go because when I pass this store/apartment, I can see the red walls and constant disco ball lights and it is one of the most intriguing places in my neighborhood. It was the most fabulous apartment/party/people ever! For most of our stay, Jen and I were two of three females in a sea of gay men. Some of them were independent clothing/furniture designers and they cooed over my knitting skills. The furniture was great and the bathroom had music (Madonna!) and we drank drinks with scandalous names. Tasty, though. And we’ve been invited back to watch Project Runway! Marcus was an awesome host.
Then Jen came over and crashed on my couch. I made us grilled cheese sandwiches at 2 or 3am and we watched an episode of Sex and the City. Pretty standard, really.
Yesterday I watched the Corpse Bride, painted my finger nails black, bought my new Penguin, Roxanne, and filled his belly up with CDs and ordered Chinese food delivery with Kristi.
And now, because I’m impressed with my eclectic CD library, I will share which CDs made it into Roxanne’s belly for work (I haven’t listened to some of these CDs in years):

I think the cream puffs at Vo’s were storebought. I swore I had cream puffs just like those, only at the local grocer’s freezer. I mean, they did show up at our table within like, 2 minutes.
those rule. i love the one of the balcony.
