kayla and kurt’s wedding was on the beach in old orchard beach. we rehearsed the night before, which was the original date for the wedding. it’s kind of too bad it wasn’t still the wedding night because the weather was perfect for the event. the next night? winds picked up in a major way and it was grey and threatening to rain. the ceremony was cut short due to the scary weather and the winds made it impossible to hear the person next to you. we still had a good time, though, because after the ceremony we all crowded into a pirate-themed bar for dinner and dancing.
but i’m skipping the party the night before! pre-wedding party!
everyone in the wedding party got a treasure chest full of booty — chocolate, booze, accessories to wear for the wedding, and seashells.
we went to barefoot boy, where everyone bought many drinks for the bride.
not many photos because we were all too busy having too much fun.
i was a bridesmaid. i tied my seashell necklace in a knot so it wouldn’t hang so low, and i started a major trend among the other bridesmaids! i felt so darn cool.
it was so very windy, but i still wanted a photo of us wearing our wedding outfits on the beach.
a friend of the bride and groom made the cake — very cute, very delicious.
jason, that flower complements your style so well.
not sure if this is a photo of karma being sleepy or bashful. or both?
memorial for someone very important who is no longer with us — kayla’s (and jason’s) mom.
i’m not sure what time it was, but after a certain amount of dancing and rain, the bride decided to jump into the pool at the neighboring hotel.
her very supportive groom followed her lead.
i put a bird on it.
much later in the evening, these two new friends went skinny dipping in the ocean.
you know that iphone commercial showing the panoramic camera mode and the dude holding the camera is saying “cheeeeeee-eeee-eeeeee-eeeeese”? well, that was me for this photo. got a good one on the third try! this was also before the panoramic update for the iphone camera app — i use the 360 app.
the next day we went up to kayla and kurt’s house for quieter family time. and recovery.
karma is a pretty cute kid.
and the next morning was our last full day in new england. we stayed for a late sleep-in and a family breakfast before heading towards boston.
