I certainly never intend to stay at Legend’s karaoke until the bar closes, but yet it always happens. I would start taking Thursdays off if (a) I didn’t get paid to work 40 hours each week (b) I knew that someone else would be in my office on Thursday mornings (but Tuesday and Thursdays are my day to open up the administration office).
Last night was fun, though. I didn’t know what to sing and unfortunately Brenda has not acquired new music yet, so Jeff was giving me challenges (such as “Call Me” by Blondie, “Sweet Child of Mine” by Guns & Roses, “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green and “In the Midnight Hour” by Wilson Pickett). I chose “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake and “New Sensation” by INXS on my own. It was an eclectic mix of songs, but quite enjoyable. I am a karaoke champion and I will conquer any (reasonable) song you challenge me to, probably. I have confidence in my abilities.
But! It turns out that Brenda and RPM were at the confirmation I attended a couple weeks ago. They were sitting on the other side of the band from my family and spotted me. Who would think that I’d be at the same small-town confirmation as my favorite karaoke DJ and her boyfriend!
