Pattern: Sunday Swing Socks by Kristel Nyberg (for Knitty)
Made For: my own personal gratification about finally knitting socks and therefore becoming a “real” knitter
Needle: US 1/2.25 mm
Yarn: Trekking XXL
Completed: August 1, 2014
I reported this accomplishment through my monthly wrap-up for 101 in 1001 because it was a goal to knit socks, but I guess I totally forgot to do a “finished object” report.
In short: the “second sock syndrome” is true. If it hadn’t been for my goal of getting these completed so I could move on with my life, I may not have knit the second sock. The first sock was so awesome, knit up quickly, and I was all “Great! New skillz! Look how pretty!” The second sock felt like it took forever to knit. “I have to knit another round of these 10 rows?! Uuuugh.” The pattern at least helped keep my attention.
But! I made it through. And look how great these are! I never have to knit socks again. (Though I’ll probably sucker myself into another sock project — maybe a good excuse to try knitting two at a time?)
