So I spent basically the whole weekend with my darling gal, Kristi. We met on Friday after work for a drink at Brit’s Pub. A drink turned into dinner, which turned into a pitcher of beer, which turned into buzzed and sleepy at Kristi’s apartment. Eventually I got myself home for the evening.
On Saturday afternoon we ventured over to Loring Park to see the Pride Festivities. The Target booth was by far the best – we got rainbow tattoos (and I now have a bullseye sunburned on my arm) and played DDR for free! Way awesome. There were loads of other awesome things, too, but I’m too lazy to tell you about them. So I’ll just share some photos:
(Yes, I was a girl scout! I should have told them that I even earned the coveted [maybe?] Gold Award, but instead I took a temporary tattoo.)
That evening, Kristi and I decided it would be a good idea to have a post/mid-festival drink at Joe’s Garage. We got an awesome table (outside, still under the roof, with a view of Loring Park – we still got to see the 10pm fireworks!).
And then we pretended to be on the nature channel. We watched a young spider trying to make a web on the adjacent table and chair, but failed several times (I confess that I may have blinded it one of the times). It eventually spider-ed its way to another table, where an unsuspecting Pride-goer may have smashed it with a box of cigarettes. Life is so fragile.
I already have too many photos here, but the next morning (Sunday) Kristi and I attended the parade on Hennepin Avenue.
After the parade, Kristi and I ventured back to Joe’s with the intention of eating brunch and drinking bloody marys.
After waiting in the park for half an hour, we gave up and wandered to The Newsroom on Nicollet Mall. I was starving. Then I came home, did laundry, and let my sunburned arms and face rest and I passed out on my couch for a while. It is awesome to pass out on the couch after a full weekend.
