Everyone I know seems to be out of town this weekend (with the exception of Karyn and Bryan, who were trapped in Uptown due to the art fair), but I was hungry last night and there was nothing at all appetizing about the contents of my kitchen.
I received a coupon to Buca di Beppo a while ago – $5 off of a small entree. I realized, of course, that the portions at Buca are ridiculously large and meant for family-style eating. “Small” sounded promising, though.
I showed up around a quarter to 6pm and asked if I could get a table for myself. After promising to leave within the hour, I was seated. Right away I ordered a glass of pinot noir and one of the evening’s specials (steak contadina). My server also talked me into ordering some garlic bread with mozarella. It was all very awesome and way too much for little ol’ me. I like leftovers, though.
Sometimes I wish I was a food critic. Going to restaurants is super fun, but it would be even more fun if I wasn’t paying.
